Bio
Born in Longmont, Colorado in 2001, Ryan Cooper received his BFA from the University of Colorado Denver in 2025. Throughout his college career, Ryan interned for a photography professor, received a visual arts poster commission, and participated in exhibitions. In 2024, he completed a month-long study abroad program with the Santa Reparata International School of Art based in Florence, Italy. Ryan works both with film and digitally to create images that reflect and highlight the natural world. Growing up in colorful Colorado, Ryan always had an affinity for the outdoors. Upon acquiring a camera, he found a new way of viewing the world and the hidden beauties within it.
Inspired by his family, Ryan developed a fascination for biological specimens, specifically flora and fungi, which largely influenced his work. The nostalgic environments he experienced as a child have been transformed into unrecognizable concrete jungles, putting conservation on the radar of the artist. He enjoys sharing the found beauty in the world through a documentary approach and experimenting with new techniques from film manipulation to digital composite images.
